And so it Begins!!

Well today is the first day of my paternity leave. I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to take some time off to spend at home with Jaron. Since it was there I couldn't pass it up. I am going to miss my students at school and work, but I know this is very important to do. I am off today through Dec. 17th, then Chelsea's mom is coming to spend 4 days with Jaron while I'm back at work, then I start Christmas break. We did this so we could save a ton of money on daycare. Thanks Brenda for helping us out we really appreciate it.

I am very nervous to be left here alone with him. What do I do when he starts crying? What if he won't stop? Those of you that know me know that I am not the best with the unknown so this is going to be a challenge. I am looking forward to it, but I am nervous. It is a short week, Chels is off Thursday and Friday so that is going to be nice.

Jaron is changing every day, as I'm sure you all figured. Hopefully I'll have some time to update the blog on my time off. Here are a few more pictures.

He had to have a picture with the final score of the OU game!!!
Jaron with his first picture with Bob Stoops, his future college football coach when he gets that scholarship to play at OU. Then he goes on the NFL and mom and dad can live the life!!! Either that or he plays bassoon so he can get a scholarship to any college for that. We'll have to wait and see!!

Of course more pictures!

Jaron is getting bigger!!

Well he is getting bigger. Today he went to the Dr. and he now comes in a 9 lbs. 12 ounces. Everything is going great. I am starting my paternity leave on Monday and am looking forward to spending time at home with him. I am going to miss work and all my students, but I know it is very important to take this time with Jaron while I can.

Just a few more pictures.

More pictures from the shower and of us.

This one will probably be our christmas card.

Almost naked Jaron after a bath. He was happy until we put clothes on him, then he got crabby.

Thank You!!

Well it has been 4 weeks now since Jaron was born. Where did the time go? It seems like yesterday that I first met my son and it is so amazing how different he is today from that day in October. Life has been busy and everyday is a new adventure.

Yesterday was a confirmation to us that we have the best friends in the world. First Julie and Heidi had planned a shower for Chels and Jaron so they were busy with that. While that was going on, Kevin, Brian and his kids came over to watch some football and just hang out. I really needed that! I have been so busy with work, symphony, Jaron and chamber orchestra that I hadn't seen my friends in weeks and as those of you that know me know, I really need my network of friends. We just watched some football, had some shiner bock, talked about Brian's knowledge (or lack of) of college football, and just hanging out. Danny stopped by after his rehearsal and we had a good time just hanging out with everyone.

The shower was a success. I think the ladies all had fun, frankly we weren't that concerned since we had our own fun with some football. I know Chelsea enjoyed seeing everyone and the turnout was pretty good. We received a lot of gifts so now I think we are going to have to move just to find a place for everything new we have been given over the past few months.

I have no idea who all reads this anymore. Jena I know you do, so HI and Thanks for reading this and the comments you always have. Hopefully we can get together sometime and catch up. Anyhow, I will try to update more each week, at least pictures. Here are a few from yesterday for you all to enjoy.
